Engineers working on the redevelopment of Birmingham New Street station lifted in the first sections of the Moor Street link over the weekend.

Originally from Glasgow Sean Doherty, 26, now lives in Coventry and commutes by train into Birmingham every day. Now working on the Gateway project as a trainee commissioning engineer, Sean said "I used to have to travel a lot with my previous job working in telecoms, so it's good to have a solid base and routine. I'm fascinated by the whole design element of the New Street redevelopment as I've not worked on anything as major as this before. It's really exciting to see it all come together."
