Gateway Graduates

Every year, Network Rail recruit around 140 graduates onto a variety of training programmes. Working with established universities across the country, we are committed to investing in graduates to ensure they gain the skills and experience necessary to become the future of our industry.

New Street Gateway will deliver a world class station for Birmingham and is vital to the continued prosperity of the West Midlands.  The rebuilt New Street will give passengers three and a half times more space and transform the grey, concrete exterior into a stunning building fit for 21st century Birmingham.  The project will generate over £2bn in transport and wider economic benefits for the West Midlands.

The Gateway project is working closely with our partners including Birmingham City Council and Advantage West Midlands to open up training and development opportunities on the project for young people from the region.

We met with two of Network Rail's MSc Project Management graduates who are working in key roles on the Birmingham Gateway project to find out about their experiences.
